Alexandria, La. (July 13, 2019) — The threat of dangerous flooding from Hurricane Barry in South Louisiana is one of the primary concerns of emergency planners. (July 11, 2019)— Community cleanups scheduled Saturday for the Woodside and South Alexandria Neighborhood Watch areas have been cancelled due to rainfall expected in Alexandria from Tropical Storm Barry, according to SafeAlex Director the Rev. Alexandria, La. (July 10, 2019)—Current forecasts from the National Weather Service indicate a potential tropical storm or Category 1 hurricane is expected to form in the Gulf of Mexico with possible landfall this weekend along the Louisiana coast.
