MLK Tribute 2020

The City of Alexandria presents the MLK Day Tribute, a celebration of the birth and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Let Louisiana's First Whiskey Sommelier, Melissa Scarborough, guide you through three whisky tastings, two wine tastings, and three tapas pairings on site of the beautiful Kent Plantation House.

Cost is $75 per person.

The annual conventions for the state beekeepers association will be held this year in Pineville at the Country Inn & Suites Convention Center December 5-7. Special guest speakers and break out sessions will be available for all levels of beekeepers - beginning to advanced. If you want to learn more about beekeeping, please join us!

The Arna Bontemps African American Museum & Cultural Arts Center is hosting a "Family History Workshop."
The event will be held at the museum located in Downtown Alexandria at 1327 Third Street (Corner of St. James & Third) from 11am-1pm.

The public is invited to attend. No reservations required. Cost $20

Support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by attending the Zumbathon hosted by the Louisiana Athletic Club in Pineville on November 23rd from 9am-12pm. Group fitness instructors will lead back-to-back Zumba classes for a morning full of high energy and fun. This event is free for members of LAC and $10 for non-members. The Friends of the James C. Bolton Library will hold a book sale on the LSUA campus on Tuesday, October 22 and Wednesday, October 23 from 9:00am-5:00pm both days. The sale will take place on the first floor of the library.

All paperback books and audiobooks on tape are .50 cents. All hardcover books, audiobooks on CD and DVDs are $2.00 each.

Proceeds from the sale go toward the purchase of various library materials including equipment and supplies.

Inglewood Farm Corn Maze is a family-friendly event held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from October 5 - November 9, 2019. Activities are all outdoors and include
THE MAZE, Jumpers, Pony rides every Saturday and more. Live music and food trucks as well.

Alexandria Senior High is celebrating 50 Years of Excellence. Join us for the Tailgate that begins at 4:30 until 6:30. Next we will cheer on the Trojans for their homecoming game against Green Oaks. After the halftime show the After Party will begin in the cafeteria. Tickets are $20 which includes the tailgate, game, and afterparty. Ticket for the After Party only are $10.
