This fun and interactive workshop will introduce young artists to the magic of creating vibrant designs with plant-based dyes made from flowers, fruits, and more. Through simple folding and tying techniques, children will create their own unique tie-dye designs on fabric while learning about the environment and how natural dyes are made.
Join us for a unique and educational experience as the Alexandria Zoo brings the wild to the library! Meet some amazing animal ambassadors and learn fascinating facts about their habitats, behaviors, and conservation efforts. This engaging program offers a rare opportunity to see and learn about exotic animals up close, right here in the library. Perfect for all ages, this event is designed to spark curiosity and deepen our understanding of the natural world.
In this fun and engaging library program, participants will learn about the basics of robotics, renewable energy, and the mechanics of solar power by building their very own "wobble bots" – simple, solar-powered robots that move in quirky, unpredictable patterns. These wobble bots work using solar energy and are designed to move based on the power generated by a small solar panel, making them an excellent introduction to the concept of sustainable energy. For kids 11 and up.

Designed to spark curiosity about wildlife in Louisiana, this event will teach children about Louisiana habitats and the animals that live in them.
