Alexandria, La. (Feb. 20, 2020) — Mayors from across Central Louisiana gathered at the Randolph Riverfront Center Wednesday morning to discuss common issues and ways they can work together as a region at the Central Louisiana Regional Mayors’ Meeting.
Alexandria Mayor Jeffrey W. Hall hosted the meeting with the assistance of the city’s economic development team, the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce and the England Authority. Also participating in the discussions were representatives of the Louisiana Municipal Association and State Senators Jay Luneau and Louis Bernard along with State Representative Mike Johnson.
“While as Mayors we each represent individual communities, we need to understand we are all part of the broader community of Central Louisiana,” noted Mayor Hall. “This meeting is about building and strengthening our connections, between each other and with our state leaders. It is about coming together to identify the assets and strengths we have locally and find ways to build on those. We had some great discussions today, and I am excited about what we can do together moving forward.”
The meeting featured a round table format with Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce President Deborah Randolph and England Authority Executive Director Sandra McQuain facilitating the discussions. Topics covered included top legislative priorities for the region, infrastructure challenges, economic development and quality of life issues.
