Alex RiverFete 2022 Kicks Off with Dinner on the Bricks

Alexandria, La. (April 28, 2022) — A large crowd filled Third Street from DeSoto to Murray Streets Thursday night to enjoy live music and sample dishes from some of Alexandria’s favorite restaurants and food vendors as Alex RiverFete officially got underway with Dinner on the Bricks.
Participating food providers include The Bentley Room, The Creole Cockpit, Diamond Grill, Café Desoto, Delish, Love & D’serts, Pamela’s Bayou in a Bowl, Uncle Willie’s 3 Fat Brothers, Royal Onion, Chrissy’s Cajun Kitchen and Bitty Bundts.
“We came because we haven’t been out in two years, so it’s wonderful to be back out,” said Delsey Thomas of Alexandria. “It’s beautiful. Perfect weather, perfect people, perfect city,” added Patricia Eli of Alexandria.
Scott Laliberte, a food vendor with the Bentley Room and Diamond Grill restaurants, noted, “We’re just really excited to have Dinner on the Bricks back. It’s a great crowd tonight. We’re always happy to participate and showcase what central Louisiana and Alexandria has for great restaurants.”
Alex RiverFete continues Friday night starting at 5 p.m. downtown. All events are free. Friday’s music lineup includes DJ Melissa Frost from 5-11 on the Main Stage. Meghan Linsey will perform at 6 p.m. followed by Mary Griffin at 7 p.m. and Texas Hill closes the night on the Main Stage starting at 9 p.m.
On the Desoto Stage, DJs Bow Bow Bow and Speedy Tee will be on hand from 6-11 p.m. P2K will perform at 7 p.m. followed by Koray Broussard at 9 p.m.
Other activities Friday night include the ArtFete, featuring a variety of arts and crafts vendors from 5- 9 p.m. and the Alexandria Museum of Art’s Illuminated Procession starting at 8:15 p.m. Food vendors will also be available from 5 p.m. until activities wrap up at 11 p.m. For schedules and more information go to alexriverfete.com or check out Alex RiverFete on Facebook.
