The City of Alexandria has prepared for emergency operations should the need to convert occur over the next 48 hours. The City follows a plan of activities and creates more individualized operational plans, as needed. The Emergency Operations Team met formally over the last two days, staging extra generators, equipment, crews, and action plans across the city’s departments. Today, the Civil Service Department and Public Works Division participated in the annual Workplace Experience Exchange(WEE) Camp for 25 elementary teachers. The purpose was to provide an educational experience for the teachers through presentations and hands-on activities, including a tour to identify various occupations within the City.Teachers were given resources on the skills needed to teach students about specific professions in the Motor Pool and Transit Department.
