Alexandria Museum of Art,

Pop Art: The Test of the Object, directed by Carlos Vilardebo and produced by the Roland Collection, explores the way that consumer society developed and inspired the birth of the Pop Art Movement. The documentary includes explorations into well known artists in the movement, such as Pollock, Lichenstein, and Claes Oldenburg, whose work is in the exhibit ReTooled: Highlights from the Hechinger Collection.

Yoga is offered free of charge every Tuesday at AMoA thanks to a grant from the Rapides Foundation. Yoga instructor, b. Hedrick is an ascetic Taoist yogi with fourteen years of yoga practice. Yoga Tao is for all experience levels, incorporating spirit-mind-body techniques.

The library is collecting gently used school uniforms for a back-to-school uniform exchange and share with schools and church organizations that offer school uniform “closets.” Donations of back-to-school supplies will also be accepted during month of August and donated to the Rapides Parish School Board’s McKinney-Vento program.
