Alexandria Fire Department Responds Two-Alarm Fire on Bolton Avenue.

At approximately 12:26 a.m. this morning, the Alexandria Fire Department (AFD) was dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire in the 700 block of Bolton Avenue.

Fire crews arrived on the scene within two minutes of the initial alarm. Upon arrival, the first unit observed a commercial building fully engulfed in flames. Crews entered the building in an effort to suppress the fire but were forced to evacuate due to a roof collapse. The collapse subsequently caused the building’s front wall to fail.

No injures were reported as a result of the event. Through the course of its investigation, the AFD identified and arrest a suspect, Justin Garrett, who has been charged with simple arson.
