  Satchmo\, winner of the Southeast EMMY Award for Outstanding Historical
  Documentary\, which comes to the Hearn Stage at the Kress Theatre on Mo
 nday\, November 6th at 7:00 PM!\nThe film will be followed by a Q&amp\;A
  with the Emmy-winning team behind the film\, director John Alexander an
 d producer JC Guest.\n\nTickets are $10 for Adults and Free for Students
 \nTickets can be purchased at the door.\n\nSharon Preston-Folta comes fo
 rward in the documentary after living closely in the shadows of her fath
 er\, unveiling a family and their relationship that was kept entirely in
 visible for more than 50 years. The story is told almost exclusively fro
 m the first-person perspective of a daughter who was loved and cared for
  her by her father until the end of his life. The documentary is based o
 n Preston-Folta’s memoir of the same title\, detailing how Sharon\, th
 e product of a two-decade love affair between Satchmo and Harlem dancer 
 Lucille ‘Sweets’ Preston\, had no option but to harbor and conceal h
 er identity for decades before making it public. It resonates with compl
 ex themes of race\, father/daughterhood\, family\, identity\, and single
 -parent households.\n\nMade possible by a partnership with the National 
 Endowment of the Arts\, the Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmak
 ers is a program of South Arts who has selected Little Satchmo to tour A
