DESCRIPTION:A solo exhibition of paintings\, sculptures\, and photograph
 s by artist Joe Ray (US\,b.1944). The artist\, who lives and works in Lo
 s Angeles\, is a native of Alexandria\, LA.  Raised in Alexandria\, Joe 
 attended South Alexandria elementary school and Peabody Sr. high school\
 , where he began painting and then received Louisiana state awards for h
 is artwork.  He then studied fine arts at the University of Southern Lou
 isiana in Lafayette\, then moved to Los Angeles in 1963.  This exhibitio
 n is Joe Ray's homecoming\, as an artist\, to Alexandria where several g
 enerations of his family still reside.  He will show paintings\, sculptu
 re\, and photographs from his six-decade career.  This includes early pa
 intings (1960-62) made in Alexandria\, contemporary paintings made for t
 his exhibition\, early cast resin sculpture from his ongoing 'Light and 
 Space' series and selected abstract skyscapes from his ongoing 'nebula'
