Ben Jammin' Fest
Support a new scholarship fund at LSUA at the very first Ben Jammin' Fest held at the Huckleberry Brewing Company. Named for Ben Rouge, who recently passed away, the festival will raise funds for a scholarship in the arts at LSUA.
Live music kicks off at noon on Saturday, September 1 at the Huckleberry Brewing Company and will feature bands from New Orleans, Portland, Nashville, Dallas, and Alexandria. There will also be a gumbo cook-off competition with food being served at 11:30am and judging starting at 3:00pm.
Gates will open at 11:00am.
Additionally, there will be a silent auction with a limited number of numbered posters of 'Ben Jammin' Fest 2018' for sale. A limited batch of 'Ben Jammin' Ale' will also be released with all proceeds going toward the scholarship fund.
Ben was a proud native of Louisiana and central Louisiana and a 2003 graduate of ASH. He excelled in music and eventually found himself in Portland, Oregon. To honor his memory, a scholarship has been established at LSUA for a student in the arts. The scholarship will be known as the Benjamin M. Rouge Scholarship in Visual and Performing Arts.
