PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA, LOUISIANA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 8, 2009.
The Council of the City of Alexandria, Louisiana, met in special meeting session at its regular meeting place, on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. There were present the Honorable Everett C. Hobbs, Harry B. Silver, Myron K. Lawson and Chuck Fowler. Absent were Roosevelt L. Johnson, Ed Larvadain and Jonathan D. Goins. Also present were City Attorney Chuck Johnson, Assistant City Attorney Trey Gist and City Clerk Nancy L. Thiels.
The Council of the City of Alexandria, State of Louisiana, was duly convened as the governing authority of said City by the Honorable Myron K. Lawson, who stated that the Council was ready for the transaction of business.
EXECUTIVE SESSION PURSUANT TO R.S. 42:6.1 (A) (2) ON THE FOLLOWING ITEMS
1) To hear a report from the Administration and the City Attorney on strategy or negotiations concerning the matter of “City of Alexandria vs. Cleco Corporation,” et al Docket #05-1121-A, United States District Court, Western District of Louisiana, Alexandria Division.
2)To hear from the City Attorney concerning amended petition filed against the “City of Alexandria by Louisiana College”, Civil Suit #217,323, Division G, Ninth Judicial District Court.
3) To hear from Bussey & Lauve concerning the following personal injury cases:

A motion was made by Mr. Fowler and seconded by Mr. Hobbs to go into Executive Session to discuss the above items. A roll call vote was taken with the following recorded:
YEAS: Fowler, Silver, Hobbs, Lawson, Johnson. (He walked in at this time)
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Larvadain and Goins.
The meeting was adjourned.
The meeting was reconvened with a motion made by Mr. Johnson and seconded by Mr. Hobbs. A roll call vote was taken with the following recorded:
YEAS: Johnson, Silver, Hobbs, Lawson.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Fowler, Larvadain and Goins.
There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion properly seconded, the meeting was adjourned.
